We were looking for a landscape design and construction service for the backyard of our new home in Phoenix. My wife found Diamond Stone & Synthetic Grass online, with good reviews, so we decided to get a quote from them. The project manager, DANIEL, responded and did the measurement for our backyard. He explained to us the materials and the labors. And the most importantly, the grading to direct water out of the backyard and away from the foundation of the house. In the same afternoon, he sent us the quote, the detail measurement, and the selections of materials. The quote is much better than what we expected, so we decided to hire them for this project. While the construction is ongoing, Daniel always kept us updated. We asked a lot of questions during the process, to prevent mistakes caused by misunderstanding. Daniel and his team always responded in a timely manner. The whole team is knowledgeable, friendly, and patient. They took care of the questions and issues we brought up, and the project ends up awesome. When I saw the outcome, I have nothing else to say but WOW. There was a tiny hiccough that the paver was too close to the gate, causing it hard to close. Once we brought it to Daniel's attention, his team showed up in two days and fixed it. How can we not appreciate a team taking care of problems so quickly? We are very happy that we chose DSSG to do our backyard.

Extremely satisfied with diamond stone. Daniel was very friendly and helpful during the consultation. I met with so many different companies, but knew almost immediately I’d go with them because of how Daniel communicated and made me feel confident in their work. The crew was very quick and professional as well. We got new turf installed and it looks amazing! Even after it was done, they have been communicating with me all the way. Great service and reasonable prices.

Make the green part of your time outside.

Plan putting greens around the way you want to use your Peoria property.

Balance the practice area with the rest of the yard.

An easy connection from the patio

Consider where you will enter the green and where other people will sit or watch. A clear approach helps the putting area become part of outdoor entertaining while leaving normal walking routes available.

A footprint with room around it

Use the actual boundary of your available space to discuss putting distances and cup positions. Review the perimeter as carefully as the center, including room beside fences, planted beds, and retained hardscape.

A finish that suits the setting

Look at the putting surface, fringe, and adjacent lawn as a group. Their colors and boundaries can help the new green sit comfortably beside the landscape you already have.

Choose what you want to keep in your Peoria backyard.

You may already have a pool, a covered patio, or a lawn that works well. Mark those features on the layout before deciding where the green belongs. A smaller dedicated practice area may suit your routine better than a larger footprint that takes space from other activities.

Consider how often you expect to practice and who else will use the space. Share the kinds of putts you enjoy working on, along with any plans for future lighting or paving. That gives the design a practical brief and helps define the boundaries of the first installation.

Prepare for your consultation.

  • Features and outdoor activities you want to preserve
  • Access from the house and main seating area
  • Your preferred practice routine and putting distances
  • Future lighting or patio changes to coordinate

Ask about 3D landscape renderings when you want to discuss the proposed appearance before installation.

Make the proposed green easy to understand.

Request a layout that identifies the putting area, cup positions, and surrounding finish. The installation scope should address existing surface removal, preparation, the selected turf system, and any adjoining work. Discuss maintenance and the intended playing characteristics before approving the design. A photograph is useful inspiration, but your own dimensions should guide the final plan.

Putting Greens in Peoria: your questions

The two areas can be planned together. Review the available footprint and the connection between their surfaces, including the border and any fringe. Keep everyday access and other lawn activities in the layout.

It can be designed around the putting distances and positions the space allows. Explain your goals first, then assess the proposed layout rather than judging the project only by total square footage.

Show the furniture dimensions and leave circulation space around both the chairs and the putting area. Think about the view from the patio and the route people will take when others are practicing.

If evening use matters to you, include it early in the discussion. Proposed fixture locations and installation routes can then be considered with the green preparation and surrounding landscape work.

Yes. Share the intended final layout and ask for a defined first phase. Future paving, structures, and access requirements should be reviewed so you can understand how they relate to the initial installation.
