We were looking for a landscape design and construction service for the backyard of our new home in Phoenix. My wife found Diamond Stone & Synthetic Grass online, with good reviews, so we decided to get a quote from them. The project manager, DANIEL, responded and did the measurement for our backyard. He explained to us the materials and the labors. And the most importantly, the grading to direct water out of the backyard and away from the foundation of the house. In the same afternoon, he sent us the quote, the detail measurement, and the selections of materials. The quote is much better than what we expected, so we decided to hire them for this project. While the construction is ongoing, Daniel always kept us updated. We asked a lot of questions during the process, to prevent mistakes caused by misunderstanding. Daniel and his team always responded in a timely manner. The whole team is knowledgeable, friendly, and patient. They took care of the questions and issues we brought up, and the project ends up awesome. When I saw the outcome, I have nothing else to say but WOW. There was a tiny hiccough that the paver was too close to the gate, causing it hard to close. Once we brought it to Daniel's attention, his team showed up in two days and fixed it. How can we not appreciate a team taking care of problems so quickly? We are very happy that we chose DSSG to do our backyard.

Extremely satisfied with diamond stone. Daniel was very friendly and helpful during the consultation. I met with so many different companies, but knew almost immediately I’d go with them because of how Daniel communicated and made me feel confident in their work. The crew was very quick and professional as well. We got new turf installed and it looks amazing! Even after it was done, they have been communicating with me all the way. Great service and reasonable prices.

Shape the setting for evenings at home.

Plan landscape lighting around the way you want to use your Peoria property.

Follow the way you spend time outside.

A view beyond the patio

Look toward the garden from your usual chair. Lighting selected planting or a landscape feature can give that view a focal point. Discuss the intended emphasis before deciding where every fixture will go.

Connections between outdoor areas

Identify the route to a separate lounge, garden gate, or putting area. Review lighting along those connections as part of the wider layout, including how fixtures relate to the paving and planted edges.

Controls that suit your schedule

Explain when you want the lights to operate and which areas you expect to use together. Ask what control options are available for the proposed system and what equipment the quote includes.

Start with the areas you use most in Peoria.

You can begin with a focused improvement around the main patio or consider the whole property. List the views that matter and the routes you take in the evening. That gives the discussion a practical order and helps you decide which areas belong in the initial project.

If you plan to add a pergola, putting green, or new planting later, include those intentions in the brief. Future changes may affect equipment selection and installation routes. Ask how a first phase would relate to the larger design rather than assuming an existing setup will accommodate every addition.

Prepare for your consultation.

  • Your main evening seating and walking routes
  • Features visible from the patio and indoor rooms
  • Existing lighting and areas you want to improve
  • Preferred controls and possible future additions

Ask about 3D landscape renderings when you want to discuss the proposed appearance before installation.

Review the system behind the finished effect.

A lighting plan should make the proposed equipment, locations, and installation responsibilities clear. For an expansion, review the existing system before deciding what can be reused. Discuss aiming and adjustment, access for maintenance, and how the selected fixtures will be controlled. These details help connect your evening design goals to a defined scope of work.

Landscape Lighting in Peoria: your questions

Yes. Define the areas and views you want to address first. Share any longer-term plans so the initial equipment and installation discussion can take those intentions into account.

Show the planting you intend to retain. Fixture positions, installation access, and room for future maintenance should be considered around those features as part of the layout.

Choose the main view and features you want to emphasize, then review the proposed fixture positions from your seating area. Discuss output and aiming in relation to that view rather than judging each light separately.

Include evening practice in the project brief. The green layout, nearby seating, and surrounding features give the lighting discussion a starting point, while installation routes can be coordinated with the other work.

Bring photos of the spaces you use after sunset, a list of desired improvements, and details of existing equipment if available. Mention upcoming landscape changes and how you would like to control the lights.
