Diamond stone was a blessing to work with. Communication was easy, everyone was punctual and easy to work with. They helped us pick a turf that would better suit our needs and were done with the work in 2 days. Everything looks amazing and I will absolutely be using them for future projects.

We were looking for a landscape design and construction service for the backyard of our new home in Phoenix. My wife found Diamond Stone & Synthetic Grass online, with good reviews, so we decided to get a quote from them. The project manager, DANIEL, responded and did the measurement for our backyard. He explained to us the materials and the labors. And the most importantly, the grading to direct water out of the backyard and away from the foundation of the house. In the same afternoon, he sent us the quote, the detail measurement, and the selections of materials. The quote is much better than what we expected, so we decided to hire them for this project. While the construction is ongoing, Daniel always kept us updated. We asked a lot of questions during the process, to prevent mistakes caused by misunderstanding. Daniel and his team always responded in a timely manner. The whole team is knowledgeable, friendly, and patient. They took care of the questions and issues we brought up, and the project ends up awesome. When I saw the outcome, I have nothing else to say but WOW. There was a tiny hiccough that the paver was too close to the gate, causing it hard to close. Once we brought it to Daniel's attention, his team showed up in two days and fixed it. How can we not appreciate a team taking care of problems so quickly? We are very happy that we chose DSSG to do our backyard.

Extremely satisfied with diamond stone. Daniel was very friendly and helpful during the consultation. I met with so many different companies, but knew almost immediately I’d go with them because of how Daniel communicated and made me feel confident in their work. The crew was very quick and professional as well. We got new turf installed and it looks amazing! Even after it was done, they have been communicating with me all the way. Great service and reasonable prices.

The best starting point is the architecture and the surfaces already in place. Compare the color and scale of new paving with your exterior walls, patio doors, and retained features. A limited, well-chosen palette helps separate activity areas while keeping the landscape visually connected.
Lay out the table, chairs, or lounge pieces before settling on a patio footprint. Leave space for movement when the furniture is in use, and keep the path to the house clear of seating.
Plan how paving meets planting beds, synthetic grass, and existing concrete. Edges, border details, and changes in level deserve attention early because they affect both the finished appearance and everyday use.
Review concrete pavers, travertine, or exterior porcelain for the area you are planning. Ask about the specific product, installation requirements, texture, and care rather than choosing a material from color alone.

For your Scottsdale property, review the routes from the house to gates, seating, and existing backyard features. A walkway should have a clear purpose, and a patio should be large enough for the activity it supports. Mark the areas that feel narrow or disconnected in your current layout.
Evaluate existing elevations and where runoff needs to go before finalizing the paving plan. Construction access, removal, base preparation, and edge details can materially change the work involved. Include those items in the proposal along with the chosen surface.
Ask about 3D landscape renderings when you want to discuss the proposed appearance before installation.
Patios and paths establish where the rest of the yard goes. Coordinate their edges with planting, lighting, turf, and any planned pergola or kitchen. If you are replacing several disconnected areas, a broader backyard renovation plan can help you decide what to retain and what to rebuild.
Material selection is one part of the work. Hardscape design also addresses the size and position of paved spaces, connections between them, edges, elevations, and how the layout supports your furniture and outdoor activities.
A consistent material can tie the yard together, while a coordinated second finish can define a separate space. Compare actual samples with the house and retained surfaces. The choice should reflect the use of each area as well as its appearance.
Discuss products intended for the specific exterior application, including the surface finish, installation method, and care requirements. Suitability can vary by product and location. Compare samples and specifications before making the final selection.
Share photos and any information you have about the original material. Availability, weathering, and the condition of the existing surface can affect the result. A deliberate transition or border may be more appropriate than trying to create an exact match.
Look for the defined area, selected materials, removal and preparation work, drainage considerations, and finishing details. Confirm which related items, such as lighting or planting changes, are included and which would be a separate part of the project.
