Diamond stone was a blessing to work with. Communication was easy, everyone was punctual and easy to work with. They helped us pick a turf that would better suit our needs and were done with the work in 2 days. Everything looks amazing and I will absolutely be using them for future projects.

We were looking for a landscape design and construction service for the backyard of our new home in Phoenix. My wife found Diamond Stone & Synthetic Grass online, with good reviews, so we decided to get a quote from them. The project manager, DANIEL, responded and did the measurement for our backyard. He explained to us the materials and the labors. And the most importantly, the grading to direct water out of the backyard and away from the foundation of the house. In the same afternoon, he sent us the quote, the detail measurement, and the selections of materials. The quote is much better than what we expected, so we decided to hire them for this project. While the construction is ongoing, Daniel always kept us updated. We asked a lot of questions during the process, to prevent mistakes caused by misunderstanding. Daniel and his team always responded in a timely manner. The whole team is knowledgeable, friendly, and patient. They took care of the questions and issues we brought up, and the project ends up awesome. When I saw the outcome, I have nothing else to say but WOW. There was a tiny hiccough that the paver was too close to the gate, causing it hard to close. Once we brought it to Daniel's attention, his team showed up in two days and fixed it. How can we not appreciate a team taking care of problems so quickly? We are very happy that we chose DSSG to do our backyard.

Extremely satisfied with diamond stone. Daniel was very friendly and helpful during the consultation. I met with so many different companies, but knew almost immediately I’d go with them because of how Daniel communicated and made me feel confident in their work. The crew was very quick and professional as well. We got new turf installed and it looks amazing! Even after it was done, they have been communicating with me all the way. Great service and reasonable prices.

A yard can accumulate several different surfaces and unused corners over time. Before adding another feature, consider which parts belong in the finished space. Your renovation can simplify the layout, improve the connections to the house, and give the materials a consistent direction.
Review how the patio works with your doors, furniture, and walking routes. Extending or reshaping the usable area may give you more comfortable seating without requiring a new gathering space elsewhere in the yard.
A narrow strip of lawn or an isolated patch of paving may no longer have a useful role. Discuss whether it should become planting, a clearer route, or part of a larger open area that suits your daily routine.
An existing pool, shade structure, or established planting can shape the renovation. Identify what stays and how it connects to new surfaces, including the access and protection needed during installation.
These completed DSSG projects from our Phoenix Valley portfolio show how lawn, paths, patios, and gathering areas can work together. Use them to identify ideas for your own renovation.

Start with photos of the entire backyard, including side access and the areas closest to your house. Point out surfaces you want removed, features you want retained, and places where the current layout feels awkward. Include your budget range so the conversation can prioritize the changes that matter most.
Discuss preparation before settling on the visible finishes. Removal, drainage, irrigation changes, and access can affect the sequence of work. If your project will happen in phases, plan how later installation will reach the remaining areas without unnecessarily disturbing completed surfaces.
Ask about 3D landscape renderings when you want to discuss the proposed appearance before installation.
Your project could combine patio improvements with synthetic grass, lighting, or a pergola. An outdoor kitchen or a second seating area may also fit the overall plan. Confirm the selected work and exclusions in your proposal, and ask about design or 3D rendering options when the arrangement needs further exploration.
Review the condition and elevation of each surface first. Some may be suitable to retain, while others may need removal to support the new layout. A coordinated material choice and deliberate transitions can help the retained and new areas feel related.
Compare the complete scope with your budget and the preparation each part requires. Some work benefits from being coordinated, while other features can be planned for a later phase. Ask how staging affects access, unfinished edges, and any preparation needed beneath new surfaces.
The surrounding layout can be planned around an existing pool. Review the decking, routes, elevations, and connections to the rest of the yard. Clarify any pool construction or repair work separately so responsibilities and exclusions are clear.
Consider the activities each area needs to support. Furniture and dining need an appropriate surface and enough clearance, while an open lawn area may serve a different purpose. Discuss upkeep and access alongside appearance before deciding on the balance.
Share the property address, current photos, your main priorities, and a budget range. Include any available plans or HOA requirements. Ask which design details are included in the estimate and whether separate drawings or visualization would be useful for your scope.
