Mike and his team did a fantastic job bringing our vision to life. Our backyard was dirt with a pool and casita. The transformation is amazing and the workmanship was excellent. They were professional and had great communication, which we appreciated. We would highly recommend them for any job you have.

Diamond stone was a blessing to work with. Communication was easy, everyone was punctual and easy to work with. They helped us pick a turf that would better suit our needs and were done with the work in 2 days. Everything looks amazing and I will absolutely be using them for future projects.

We were looking for a landscape design and construction service for the backyard of our new home in Phoenix. My wife found Diamond Stone & Synthetic Grass online, with good reviews, so we decided to get a quote from them. The project manager, DANIEL, responded and did the measurement for our backyard. He explained to us the materials and the labors. And the most importantly, the grading to direct water out of the backyard and away from the foundation of the house. In the same afternoon, he sent us the quote, the detail measurement, and the selections of materials. The quote is much better than what we expected, so we decided to hire them for this project. While the construction is ongoing, Daniel always kept us updated. We asked a lot of questions during the process, to prevent mistakes caused by misunderstanding. Daniel and his team always responded in a timely manner. The whole team is knowledgeable, friendly, and patient. They took care of the questions and issues we brought up, and the project ends up awesome. When I saw the outcome, I have nothing else to say but WOW. There was a tiny hiccough that the paver was too close to the gate, causing it hard to close. Once we brought it to Daniel's attention, his team showed up in two days and fixed it. How can we not appreciate a team taking care of problems so quickly? We are very happy that we chose DSSG to do our backyard.

Extremely satisfied with diamond stone. Daniel was very friendly and helpful during the consultation. I met with so many different companies, but knew almost immediately I’d go with them because of how Daniel communicated and made me feel confident in their work. The crew was very quick and professional as well. We got new turf installed and it looks amazing! Even after it was done, they have been communicating with me all the way. Great service and reasonable prices.

Think about an ordinary meal outside and the gatherings you enjoy hosting. Where does everyone sit, how is food served, and which routes need to stay open? Those details help determine the patio footprint and the features that will make the space comfortable to use.
Position a dining table or lounge so people can move between the house and yard without crossing through occupied seating. Check chair clearance and door access before the paved area is finalized.
Choose the area you want to shade and the hours you expect to use it. Compare a pergola location with the seating arrangement and the view from the house rather than treating the structure as a separate addition.
An outdoor kitchen needs practical space around appliances and work surfaces. Plan where food is prepared, where guests gather, and how dishes return to the house so the kitchen supports the whole entertaining area.

For your Glendale project, bring furniture dimensions and photos of the doors and patio that lead into the yard. Consider whether one flexible area can support several activities or whether you want separate dining and lounge spaces. Discuss your usual guest count and the parts of the yard you use most.
Review lighting and any kitchen or structure requirements alongside the layout. Utility routes, equipment clearances, and installation access can influence where features belong. Confirm applicable approvals and property requirements during planning, before surrounding surfaces are completed.
Ask about 3D landscape renderings when you want to discuss the proposed appearance before installation.
Your outdoor living area may include a pergola, a kitchen, paving, and landscape lighting. The surrounding lawn or planting should also relate to the gathering spaces. Define the selected features and finishes together so the project feels considered as a whole and the installation scope is clear.
Compare the furniture footprints and the way you want to use the area. A flexible arrangement can work when there is enough room for movement and the main route remains clear. If both activities happen at the same time, a more distinct layout may be useful.
Start with your most common activities and the available space. Prioritize comfortable seating, useful shade, and a layout that works with your home. Add a kitchen or other feature when its purpose, dimensions, and cost fit the overall plan.
A focused patio, pergola, or kitchen project may address your main goal. Review the surrounding surfaces and access so the addition connects well to what remains. If later work is likely, include it in the planning discussion.
Plan the routes and activities you want to light before installation is complete. Discuss task lighting around cooking areas and light for walking paths as well as the atmosphere around seating. Early coordination helps identify wiring routes and suitable fixture locations.
Ask about the design drawings or 3D rendering options appropriate for your project. Confirm what the deliverables show, any revision allowance, and whether there is a separate design fee. Use that process to resolve key dimensions and feature locations.
