We were looking for a landscape design and construction service for the backyard of our new home in Phoenix. My wife found Diamond Stone & Synthetic Grass online, with good reviews, so we decided to get a quote from them. The project manager, DANIEL, responded and did the measurement for our backyard. He explained to us the materials and the labors. And the most importantly, the grading to direct water out of the backyard and away from the foundation of the house. In the same afternoon, he sent us the quote, the detail measurement, and the selections of materials. The quote is much better than what we expected, so we decided to hire them for this project. While the construction is ongoing, Daniel always kept us updated. We asked a lot of questions during the process, to prevent mistakes caused by misunderstanding. Daniel and his team always responded in a timely manner. The whole team is knowledgeable, friendly, and patient. They took care of the questions and issues we brought up, and the project ends up awesome. When I saw the outcome, I have nothing else to say but WOW. There was a tiny hiccough that the paver was too close to the gate, causing it hard to close. Once we brought it to Daniel's attention, his team showed up in two days and fixed it. How can we not appreciate a team taking care of problems so quickly? We are very happy that we chose DSSG to do our backyard.

Extremely satisfied with diamond stone. Daniel was very friendly and helpful during the consultation. I met with so many different companies, but knew almost immediately I’d go with them because of how Daniel communicated and made me feel confident in their work. The crew was very quick and professional as well. We got new turf installed and it looks amazing! Even after it was done, they have been communicating with me all the way. Great service and reasonable prices.

Give each outdoor space a clear connection.

Plan concrete pavers around the way you want to use your Phoenix property.

Plan the patio before selecting the pattern.

Space for real outdoor furniture

Place your table, chairs, and lounge seating on the proposed plan. Check the room behind a pulled-out chair and the route around each gathering area before deciding how far the paving should extend.

Routes that feel natural

Connect the doors, side access, and outdoor destinations you actually use. A path can define the edge of a lawn or lead toward a separate patio, with its width and direction considered from the beginning.

A finish related to the whole home

Compare concrete paver colors and sizes beside the house, planting, and nearby materials. Review borders and laying direction together so the pattern supports the space instead of dominating every view.

Bring the Phoenix backyard layout into one plan.

List the outdoor activities that need a paved surface and identify where the landscape should stay softer. You might want a dining patio near the house and a separate lounge beyond a lawn. Seeing those areas together helps you choose where a broad surface is useful and where a smaller paved connection is enough.

If an outdoor kitchen, pergola, or planting change is also planned, discuss it before finalizing the paver footprint. Structure positions, equipment access, and utility routes can influence the order of work. A coordinated landscape plan makes those relationships easier to review before installation starts.

Prepare for your consultation.

  • Furniture dimensions and the places you want to gather
  • Entry points and everyday routes through the yard
  • Preferred paver samples and border details
  • Existing surfaces to remove or retain

Ask about 3D landscape renderings when you want to discuss the proposed appearance before installation.

Include the preparation behind the finished surface.

Review the removal area, base preparation, grading, drainage, and edge treatment alongside the selected pavers. Existing levels and access affect what the project needs before a pattern can be installed. Your proposal should also identify how the new paving meets doors, retained surfaces, lawn edges, and any steps within the agreed work.

Concrete Pavers in Phoenix: your questions

Yes. Review the pergola footprint, post positions, seating, and paving together. Confirm the preparation and construction sequence so the structure and patio are planned as connected parts of the project.

Compare a few layouts using the proposed surface dimensions and the exterior finishes. Piece size, laying direction, border width, and visible cuts all influence the result. A pattern should work with the actual patio shape.

Yes. Discuss the edge between the materials, the finished levels, and any stepping-stone arrangement. Show both areas on the plan so the connection is considered with the turf and paving preparation.

A defined paving project can be discussed on its own. Send photos and explain the installation boundary, retained features, and access. Existing conditions will help determine the preparation and finishing work involved.

Look for the area, selected materials, pattern, removal, preparation, edges, and drainage-related work. Confirm any connected landscape improvements separately so you understand which parts of the finished design are included.
