We were looking for a landscape design and construction service for the backyard of our new home in Phoenix. My wife found Diamond Stone & Synthetic Grass online, with good reviews, so we decided to get a quote from them. The project manager, DANIEL, responded and did the measurement for our backyard. He explained to us the materials and the labors. And the most importantly, the grading to direct water out of the backyard and away from the foundation of the house. In the same afternoon, he sent us the quote, the detail measurement, and the selections of materials. The quote is much better than what we expected, so we decided to hire them for this project. While the construction is ongoing, Daniel always kept us updated. We asked a lot of questions during the process, to prevent mistakes caused by misunderstanding. Daniel and his team always responded in a timely manner. The whole team is knowledgeable, friendly, and patient. They took care of the questions and issues we brought up, and the project ends up awesome. When I saw the outcome, I have nothing else to say but WOW. There was a tiny hiccough that the paver was too close to the gate, causing it hard to close. Once we brought it to Daniel's attention, his team showed up in two days and fixed it. How can we not appreciate a team taking care of problems so quickly? We are very happy that we chose DSSG to do our backyard.

Extremely satisfied with diamond stone. Daniel was very friendly and helpful during the consultation. I met with so many different companies, but knew almost immediately I’d go with them because of how Daniel communicated and made me feel confident in their work. The crew was very quick and professional as well. We got new turf installed and it looks amazing! Even after it was done, they have been communicating with me all the way. Great service and reasonable prices.

A considered green space beside your home.

Plan synthetic grass around the way you want to use your Paradise Valley property.

Set the proportions before choosing the finish.

Green space in the right proportion

A lawn should support the scale of the courtyard or garden around it. Review a contained panel, a larger open area, or a connection between outdoor rooms rather than assuming the maximum grass area is the best layout.

Clean relationships between materials

Natural stone, tile, gravel, and turf each have a different texture. Compare their edges and widths together so the grass becomes part of the material palette rather than an isolated addition.

Existing features worth keeping

Identify mature planting, irrigation, or hardscape you want to preserve. Those choices help define the installation boundary and the amount of preparation needed around the retained landscape.

Use the lawn to frame your Paradise Valley landscape.

Look outward from your principal seating areas and decide what the lawn should contribute to that view. A simple outline can leave room for textured planting or a stone terrace. Where grass runs beside a pool or a walkway, include the proposed edge and level changes in the same design conversation.

You can also plan a turf replacement within a landscape you already enjoy. Describe what works in the current yard and what you want to improve. The preparation and access plan should account for surrounding finishes, with removal and reinstatement responsibilities clearly identified in your proposal.

Prepare for your consultation.

  • Views and proportions you want to preserve
  • Stone, tile, or gravel finishes beside the lawn
  • Retained planting and irrigation locations
  • Access, pet use, and cleaning requirements

Ask about 3D landscape renderings when you want to discuss the proposed appearance before installation.

Review the appearance and the work beneath it.

Agree on a turf sample and the treatment at each boundary, then review removal, base preparation, infill, and drainage. If pets will use the area, discuss cleaning access and ongoing care. Synthetic grass reduces the need for routine lawn mowing, but it still requires maintenance and may become hot in sunny conditions. Choose the layout with those everyday considerations in mind.

Synthetic Grass in Paradise Valley: your questions

Yes. Compare grass samples beside the existing stone and discuss the intended border. The lawn shape, edge detail, and relative size of each surface will influence the finished appearance.

A turf installation can be discussed as a defined improvement. Share the area involved and identify everything that remains. Existing conditions determine how the new work can connect to the surrounding landscape.

Bring an example of the pattern you like. Stone spacing, the size of the turf strips, edge support, and water movement all need consideration. Confirm the selected detail in the installation proposal.

Care depends on the product, debris, traffic, and pet use. Ask for cleaning and brushing guidance for the chosen material. Plan to keep the surface clear and address any areas affected by repeated use.

The lawn dimensions, selected grass, existing materials, access, base work, and finishing details affect the scope. A project-specific estimate is more useful than a price based only on the visible grass area.
